Introduction to Who We Are
The Club was formed to cater for all
owners and enthusiasts of Glassport Motors (GSM) cars in an attempt
to stimulate interest in the Dart and Flamingo range of vehicles, to
link owners together worldwide, and to assist owners to preserve and
maintain these vehicles.
The Club currently consists of two chapters, the Gauteng chapter and
Cape chapter.
The club arranges outings where owners and enthusiasts get together
socially, using breakfast runs, picnics and other events to draw GSM
owners together and promote interaction and focus public attention
on these scarce classic motor cars.
In addition, the club arranges participation in motor shows where
GSM stands are established to stimulate interest in GSM cars.
The club also strives to maintain a register of all cars, help
establish their history and assists owners with the repair and
restoration of their cars.
The club also strives to promote interaction between the owners and
the "father of GSM", Bob van Niekerk who plays an active part in the
club and represents a mine of information and knowledge for club
members who are rebuilding their cars.
